Time.

clocks

Time is a mysterious thing.

It goes by slowly when you wish it would speed up…

and goes by way too fast when you’re having fun.

How much sense does that make?

I’ve been thinking about time a lot lately.

My first semester of my senior year of college is just about up.

We have finals week left and then we are free!!

Christmas Break cannot come soon enough.

This last week has been full of “stuff”.

Projects, presentations and papers. The usual.

All the things that get left to the last week of school.

Naturally.

Time management has been my best friend this last week.

Literally. I couldn’t hangout with many real friends because I needed to get stuff done.

I made lists off all the things I needed to do and when I needed to have them done by.

One of the best feelings in the world is being able to cross things off a list.

Such a satisfying feeling as you see your list get smaller and smaller.

I am happy to say I have made it through this week unscathed and managed to cross off my entire list.

Although I was worried at the beginning.

It’s like I like to stress myself out or something.

But I had no other choice. I had to get it all done.

I had to make every minute count.

Time is a weird thing.

Even now as I’m writing this post I have spent too much time staring at the blank screen as I go on Facebook or become distracted by something else.

Where has the time gone?

This next semester will only go by faster I’m sure of it.

That’s scary.

Kind of sad.

Life runs off time.

We have to wake up at a certain time. Go to class by a certain time.

We have deadlines and times when things are due.

We are strapped to the clock. To the grind.

Sometimes I just want to throw my hands in the air and give up.

I really felt that this last week.

But I didn’t give up.

Honestly I wouldn’t let myself.

I couldn’t.

I want to make the most of this time.

I don’t want to take it all for granted.

This time here in college with friends I have grown so close too.

Being in this stage in life where you aren’t to the “real world” yet and you just get to hangout with friends all the time.

As much as I want to graduate, I know I will miss this time.

Time is a strange thing.

Something that I don’t have enough time to think about right now.

On to the next thing.

Enjoy your time today and things of that nature…

You won’t get it back.

XOXO

Anna

Great reflection on the nature of time. In my experience, it continues to speed up exponentially. This semester is only faster than the last, and the one before that. Whew.
