Campus Character.

With Fall semester coming to a close, it’s hard to muster up the motivation sometimes to stay on track with all your classes.

I know that all I have on the brain right now is Christmas break!

But who doesn’t?

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Walking around campus has turned into a slow run, since the temperature outside has dropped to what feels like freezing and you just cant seem to get inside fast enough.

It was nice to see Tiffany Burk rocking a skirt despite the frigid weather.

Get the low down…

What are your hobbies? “Participating in college sports (volleyball, track & field), reading, photography, listening to music, hanging out with friends, making people laugh.”
Who or what inspires you?
“Blake Lively – because she is simply gorgeous and her style choices, both glamorous and street, make her a true icon.  Most people don’t know that Blake is one of the few celebrities who does not have a stylist, which makes her style choices even that much more magnificent, in my opinion.  Her style is 100% her own.  She has an apt for picking pieces that suit her body and show off long legs, which I’ve always admired, since we have similar body proportions.”
Where do you like to shop?
“Marshalls, Ross, Aritzia, Forever 21, H&M.”
Where is your outfit from?
Top – American Eagle
Skirt – Marshalls
Shoes – Payless
How would you describe your personal style?
“When I’m not dressed in athletic wear or lazy garb (i.e. sweatpants and a t-shirt), I’ve always been of the mind:  less is more.  A lot of my wardrobe is black, supplemented with grey, white, navy, blues, and some brown; all solid colors, excepts for a few pieces that have a bit more color thrown in here and there.  I prefer simple classics and “classics with a twist” in high quality.  I like to build my wardrobe on basics that will last for years.  My philosophy is to focus not true classics and more unusual pieces that won’t be easily dated.”
Why did you choose this outfit?
“Because I love the skirt, honestly.  I have a tendency to pick one statement piece, so to speak, and then work the rest of the outfit around what I want to wear most.”
Who are your favorite designers?
“Chanel, she was a genius.  She redefined femininity and proved women could do whatever they wanted.
Gaultier, he took Chanel’s obsession with Masculinity/Femininity and proved to the next level and mixed it with his wit.
Dior, he was absurdly brilliant.  He constantly reinvented himself and pushed fashion forward.  The A & Y lines he created are classic.
McQueen, he turns the macabre into the beautiful and mixes it with mind bending technique.”
Any favorite trends?
“I really like statement pants!  I don’t have any because it’s extremely hard to find pants that fit me correctly, but I really like ones that are rendered in bold prints, unconventional cuts, and statement-making fabrics (think brocade and silk dupioni).”
If you could raid anyone’s closet who’s would it be?
“Sorry, but I have to give it to Blake Lively again on this one.  Everything about her is just so elegant and put together!”

I am a huge fan of stripes.
They are a fun print to add attitude to any outfit.
I love the bold colors in Tiffany’s top that contrasts with the denim in her skirt.
I liked that she high waisted the skirt a bit to give it a more dramatic look.
The buttons down the front of the skirt makes it more dynamic and gives it texture.
It adds an element of surprise; something for the eye to see.
The Shoes

Tiffany’s metallic flats are attention grabbers.
Metallics are way in right now and add that perfect shine to her look.
Flats are a great comfortable, practical and fashionable shoe.
Great for wearing around campus; to and from classes.
They transition well from day to night.

Tiffany took what would be a summer skirt and made if “Fall/Winter appropriate” by layering it with tights.
Who says you cant wear skirts when it’s cold outside?!
Fashionista’s don’t fear the weather; we just adapt to it.
Pain is beauty.
Unless it’s Monday, then sweats definitely win.
Definitely.
Stay stylish and things of that nature…
XOXO

  1. I love how Tiffany can be both laid back in sweats and stylish with cute outfits like this!
Also, I had no idea that Blake Lively didn’t have a stylist. I already thought she was awesome and gorgeous but that makes her even more likable. Tiffany has good taste when it comes to choosing a fashion icon.
Good work with these posts! I feel like I always get a really good sense as to who the featured person.
