Campus Character.

It’s crazy to think we are coming to a close on week ten here at school.

Where has the time gone?!

Thanksgiving break will be here before we know it.

Starbucks has their holiday cups out; all is right with the world again.

This week Victoria caught my eye with her outfit of choice.

I enjoy her bold choices and her always classic looks.

I always love what she has on and decided to feature her this week.

Get the low down…

Name: Victoria Wilson

Major: Business Management

Year: Junior

What are some of your hobbies: “Reading, running, watching movies, singing, playing piano, thrift store shoppin’, exploring new places, spending time with friends and family.”

Who or what inspires you? “Successful business women and mothers! Anyone who is passionate about their careers, hardworking, and cares about other people. I’m inspired by the past – old movies, music, fashion; just the general lifestyle. Currently, though, my most inspirational fashion icon is the Duchess of Cambridge AKA Kate Middleton. I follow her like a hawk :).”

Where do you like to shop? “I love thrifting! Antique stores, thrift stores, garage sales,… really, that’s where at least 50% of my wardrobe comes from! When I’m feeling like buying new stuff, I love classic-style stores: Ann Taylor, J. Crew, and the Gap.”

Where is your outfit from? “A combination of thrift store, department store, and Ebay finds 🙂 My jewelry is a combination of gifts and my mother’s and grandmother’s jewelry.”

How would you describe your personal style? “Vintage-inspired, preppie classic that is usually directly inspired by a certain time era or movie character. Every day I am a new character, depending on what I’m wearing.”

Why did you choose this outfit? “I wanted to wear my Docs, so I built my outfit around them. I love my Docs because of the juxtaposition of the boot itself (which is very masculine, industrial, and aggressive) and its feminine print (white with pink Portland roses). I  kept that masculine-meets-feminine theme with a white men’s shirt and jean jacket, and then distinctly feminine items; flower print skinny jeans and a bow headband. It’s very 1990s meets prep.”

Who are your favorite designers? “I love Ralph Lauren, Ann Taylor, Christian Dior, and Jenny Packham.”

Any favorite trends? “I tend not to follow trends because I wear vintage styles 🙂 which are not in trend haha!”

If you could raid anyone’s closet who’s would it be? “Grace Kelly, without a doubt!”
The Shoes

I love her Doc Martens. I wish I had a pair myself.

They are so Portland.

The feminine print contrasts nicely to the hefty boot.

Super durable and great for rainy days.

You can pair them not only with  a nice pair of jeans but tights and a dress.

Take that feminine/ manly contrast even farther with a skirt or dress.

The Pants

Her pants are what initially caught my eye.

The great royal blue color stands out and is a statement color.

Then when you get closer you can appreciate the floral print on the jean.

Playing with prints not only in the jean, but on the shoe as well.

The Jacket

A good white button up shirt is a staple piece for anyone’s wardrobe.

You can do so much with it.

I like how Victoria paired with a jean jacket.

Jean jackets are making a comeback people!

Get on it.

The white lays nicely next to the royal blue.

They create an eye catching color combination.

I love Victoria’s classic looks around campus.

She may think vintage styles aren’t trending, but in my opinion a vintage find is always on trend.

The past always seems to repeat itself.

The same is very true with fashion.

Maybe I’ll go out and buy a pair of Docs now.

I’ve been inspired; I hope you have too.

Have a fabulous weekend and things of that nature…
