To Ikea and Beyond.

I love firsts.

First dates, that first cup of coffee in the morning, those first moments when you walk into a Forever 21…am I right?!

Anyways, I could go on but I’ll stop.

So I had a first time experience today.

Those are always so fun when they happen.

When classes got out, I hopped in my favorite roommates truck with one of my friends and we went on an adventure.

The sun was shining, windows rolled down, music was loud and I couldn’t be more happy it’s now the weekend.

Now take a second and imagine with me the mecca of all home good stores.

Got a picture in mind?

Well…Ikea is probably better than what you are imagining.

Unless you were imaging Ikea, then you win.

To say I was excited as we were nearing the entrance is an understatement.

So of course I had to be that girl and get a picture of me in front of Ikea.

Total tourist.

There I am. Starbucks in hand. Thumbs up. Not knowing what I was about to get myself into.

So naturally my next move was to document myself getting closer to the entrance. Stay with me here.

I was about to get my Interior on.

Rooms.

Rooms on rooms on rooms.

Fully decorated to the T with all the things your little heart could imagine.

It was like I was in a life size doll house walking through different scenes.

I felt different emotions and had different first impressions with each new room that we came across.

Some I immediately fell in love with and others I had to look closer to find all the hidden things that were in the book shelves or on the tables that gave it character.

But I thought, what an awesome idea.

To have already set up bedrooms, kitchens, kids rooms, bathrooms, living rooms…it allows the customer to really get a feel for what the room would look like if they were to purchase certain items. Or if they just wanted to go ahead and purchase the whole room.

I mean why not just purchase the whole room. Ha. Just kidding. Kind of.

You can actually interact with the set up spaces and walk around in them and experience what it might be like to live in something like that.

It’s a great selling technique and really takes Ikea to a whole other level of customer service.

What better way to help a customer out with your product then to have it all already laid out in front of them.

I wonder what it would be like to work in a place like that.

I could see myself getting overwhelmed.

I could also see myself not having a paycheck because it would all be spent on homey stuff. I don’t even know if “homey” is really a word.

Anyways, enough talking. Here comes the fun part.

I took a few pictures. A few too many maybe. But I am going to just share with you some of my favorites.

I narrowed them down a bit.

My favorite room setups and other random finds.

Just click on them to make them bigger.

Hope you enjoy.

So I hope you feel inspired after looking at all my pictures.

Also thank you for taking the time to look at all my pictures.

Now I mean, there was no way I was making it out of there without purchasing a few fun items.

So here they are:

Delicate and feminine little nick knacks.

Did I mention that Ikea is inexpensive.

Both a blessing and a curse to a college student like myself.

I mean I may or may not go back.

This is the end of my Ikea adventures.

For now.

I couldn’t tell you why it took me 22 years to finally make it into one.

Have a lovely Friday night friends.

Stay safe and things of that nature…

XOXO

This blog post is fantastic! It is also 100% relatable. I completely agree with it being a blessing and a curse that Ikea is so cheap. Like, “oh, these picture frames are only $2 each, I can buy 112!” Also, I may or may not have said this to you last time, but I really love the use of pictures. Putting the story with pictures makes it that much more fun to read!
